Michael T. Jackson, BA, DDS, MSc, FRCD (C)
Dr. Michael Jackson is a graduate of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program of McGill University in Montreal. Before completing his surgical residency, Dr. Jackson earned degrees in Kinesiology and Dentistry from the University of Western Ontario. He then completed a one year hospital dental residency at the University of Washington, in Seattle before moving to Montreal to receive his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training. In addition to his clinical duties, Dr. Jackson obtained a Masters of Science degree while at McGill, researching new bone grafting technology. To further his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical training, Dr. Jackson completed an intensive 5-month rotation in Craniomaxillofacial Surgery at Canniesburn Hospital in Glasgow, Scotland. He has also earned his Fellowship from the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Jackson has a keen interest in Oral and Maxillofacial Implantology, advanced maxillofacial grafting techniques and orthognathic surgery.
Providing safe and effective anesthesia care allows for a comfortable experience with confidence and is the ultimate goal for Dr. Jackson. Yearly retraining allows Dr. Jackson to provide the latest and safest modalities of anesthesia care for his patients. He maintains current Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification. Continuing Education courses in anesthesia care and the latest in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgical technique are undertaken on a regular basis.
Originally from North Bay, Dr. Jackson was drawn to the City of Barrie because of the outstanding environment to raise his family, proximity to outdoor recreation and its reputation as a dynamic and progressive city. Dr. Jackson resides in Barrie with his wife Pamela and their two children. The Jacksons enjoy spending time at their cottage with friends and family boating and water skiing. Winter days are spent skiing and playing hockey.
