Bruce M. MacNicol, DDS, MS, FRCD (C)
Dr. Bruce MacNicol attended the University of Calgary for his undergraduate studies, obtained his dental degree from the University of Western Ontario and completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at St. John Detroit-Macomb Hospital. Dr. MacNicol also obtained a Masters Degree in Biology from the University of Detroit .
Dr. MacNicol earned his fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in 1991 and was also awarded a fellowship from the International College of Dentists recognizing clinical excellence and community service in 2004.
Dr. MacNicol's leadership and commitment to dentistry is evident by his active involvement in local, national and international professional organizations. He is past president of the Muskoka-Simcoe Dental Society and is a member of the Canadian and Ontario Dental Associations as well as the Canadian and American Associations of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. MacNicol was part of the original ownership group of the Barrie Colts Major Junior Hockey Club and played a significant role in Barrie obtaining an expansion franchise from the Ontario Hockey League.
Frequently attending continuing education courses is a high priority for Dr. MacNicol. He regularly attends conferences in implantology, anesthesia and orthognathic surgery. Dr. MacNicol has remained dedicated to providing the local community with the finest Oral and Maxillofacial surgical care. He maintains a staff appointment with the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie. Dr. MacNicol enjoys spending time with his wife Cynthia and their two children. His hobbies include hockey, heli-skiing, hiking, wake surfing and kite boarding. He was the first person to complete a crossing of Georgian Bay on a standup paddleboard.
