Mohammad Mokhtari, HBSc, DDS, FRCD (C)
Dr. Mokhtari is a graduate of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery program at the prestigious Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. Before completing his surgical residency, he earned an Honours degree in Biology from York University, a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto and a one-year internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Mokhtari has had extensive training in outpatient anesthesia, implantology, bone grafting, head and neck pathology and trauma surgery. He has developed a special interest in surgical correction of facial deformities, obstructive sleep apnea and implant surgery. He has been the recipient of numerous awards, and scored among the top 1% of all American oral and maxillofacial surgical residents for two consecutive years in their annual examination.
Dr. Mokhtari aims to provide the safest and most compassionate care to his patients utilizing the latest techniques in surgery, anesthesia, and pain control. He is certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. He is a member of the Ontario Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and has earned his specialty fellowship from the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. Dr. Mokhtari is a part-time clinical instructor at the University of Toronto and has staff privileges at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie.
Dr. Mokhtari grew up in Toronto and now resides in Barrie with his wife Amanda and their son. He enjoys the tranquility and beautiful outdoors that the city has to offer. In his spare time, he enjoys watching the Toronto Raptors, travelling and playing tennis.
