Dr. Balraj (Raj) S. Kang, DDS, FRCD (C), Dip. ABOMS Dr. Balraj S. Kang grew up in Edmonton, AB, and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Alberta. He went on to obtain his dental degree (DDS) from the University of Buffalo, where he graduated summa cum laude. He completed his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, a full-scope Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery training program at a level 1 trauma center.After completion of his residency training, Dr. Kang commenced on a 1-year fellowship in Advanced Orthognathic and Temporomandibular Joint Surgery at the University of University of Toronto. During his training, Dr. Kang gained extensive experience in treating various facial deformities with corrective jaw surgery, as well as treating patients with temporomandibular (TMJ) dysfunction using minimally invasive techniques such as arthroscopic TMJ surgery. Dr. Kang has earned his specialty fellowship from the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and is also board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Before joining Huronia Oral Surgery Group, Dr. Kang practiced in Mississauga, ON and was on staff at Trillium Health Partners. Dr. Kang strives to deliver contemporary, evidence-based care to his patients. He regularly attends continuing education courses and professional meetings/conferences to further his expertise in the field of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He maintains an active status with the American Heart Association in both Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). He has also published in the prestigious Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. In his spare time, Dr. Kang enjoys hiking, skiing, and traveling. He is a loyal fan of the Buffalo Bills and has a passion for aviation. During his residency training in Virginia, he obtained his private pilot’s license and is looking forward to exploring the skies of the Great North. Dr. Kang and his wife, Jasnik, now call Barrie their new home. He is eager to serve patients in Central and Northern Ontario and is thrilled to be a part of the Barrie and North Bay communities. |
