In simplest terms, an impacted tooth is one that cannot come in all the way. Often it is a wisdom tooth. The tooth might not come in all the way because there is not enough room in your jaw, because your teeth are already too crowded, or because of the positions of your other teeth. If you are wondering if you have an impacted tooth, here are the signs that you should look for. Tooth and Jaw PainTooth pain is something that always needs to be checked out immediately, because we want to know what is going on and also to figure out the best way to treat it. If you have a lot of new pain in your gums, or if you discover that you have cysts, it could mean that you have a tooth that is impacted. Another sign of an impacted tooth is if your gums are swollen.Headaches Often the pain from an impacted tooth will spread, and you could end up with a headache.
