What Should You Consider Prior to All-on-4 Implants?

What Should You Consider Prior to All-on-4 Implants? If you have missing teeth or decay that results in the extraction of a tooth or several teeth, implants are one of the best options available. Dental implants will not only allow you to eat, speak and smile like you used to, but they also act like bone.

In recent years, All-on-4 implants have become one of the most requested treatments by patients who are looking at this option.

Pros of All-on-4 Implants

Every patient is different, and in some cases are more complicated than others. Whether you have most of your teeth or only a few and are considering All-on-4 implants, we will give you all the information you need about this procedure when you come in for your consultation.

Some of the benefits of getting All-on-4 implants are:

•  Teeth that look and feel natural
•  Regaining a beautiful smile
•  No waiting period between implantation and restoration
•  No need for bone grafts
•  No need for sinus lift
•  One visit procedure

Cons of All-on-4 Implants

While there are many significant benefits of using All-on-4 implants, there are just as many significant cons for the procedure. Among them are:

•  Excessive cost
•  Speech problems such as slurring or difficulty saying some words
•  Trouble adjusting to the new bridge bulk, which feels different than soft tissue
•  Fractures from using excessive force when biting
•  May not be covered by insurance

With new, aggressive television campaigns singing the praises of All-on-4 implants more and more patients are requesting them as their preferred treatment plan for missing teeth. Not every patient is a good candidate for this type of implant, despite popular belief and since it involves a significant financial cost, we are happy to review your history and present oral health to determine if this is a good solution for your missing teeth.

We encourage you to do some research and investigate if All-on-4 implants are something that could benefit you. Let us know if you have any questions.
